Picado Beta Privacy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Picado is in a free beta, open only to people we’ve invited. Here’s what happens to your videos and information while you use it. Picado is run by Pixel Door.
Who Can See Your Videos
You can see your own videos, and other people in the beta can’t. Picado’s founder can open any beta video to watch it and read its transcript and edit, so they can see where the edit goes wrong and fix it. That view can’t change anything.
We may also use beta footage to tune the editor. Picado’s founder does that work with AI tools from outside providers, so your footage and transcripts may be processed by them for it.
We never post your videos anywhere, and we never show them to anyone outside Picado. They go only to the kinds of services listed below, which make the edit or help us improve it.
What We Collect
- Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also keep the account ID Google sends us. We ask Google for your email address only, so we don’t get your name or photo.
- The recordings you upload and their file names, and everything Picado makes from them, including the transcript, the edit, still frames and the finished video.
- Your settings, including the word list Picado learns from your fixes.
- A record of how you use the app, such as when you sign in, when you start, approve and download a video, and what you change in review.
- What you type into the feedback box, saved with your email, the screen you were on, the video you had open and any error message showing. A copy is emailed to Picado’s founder.
- Server logs of events like sign-ins and emails sent, which include your email address.
The app sets one cookie to keep you signed in for up to 30 days. When you sign in with Google, it sets a second cookie for up to 10 minutes so the sign-in can finish. Neither cookie is used for ads or tracking. We don’t track you across other websites, so a browser’s Do Not Track signal has nothing to switch off here. Our website, getpicado.com, has no analytics right now. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t show you ads.
Who Processes Your Videos
Making an edit takes a few outside services. Each one gets only what it needs for its part.
- A cloud storage provider keeps your recordings and finished videos.
- A video processing service does the heavy work, such as cleaning up the sound and building the finished video.
- A transcription service gets the audio only and turns it into a transcript.
- AI models plan the cuts. They get only the transcript and your word list.
- A hosting provider runs the app and its database.
- An email service sends our emails, like your sign-in links and the note that your video is ready.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose “Continue with Google”.
- AI providers process footage and transcripts when we tune the editor.
None of these services can use your videos or transcripts to train their own AI. These services may handle your information in the United States and in other countries. If you’d like the names of the companies we use, email [email protected] and we’ll tell you.
How Long We Keep Things
Your original recordings are deleted 30 days after you approve the edit, or 30 days after you remove the video. If you leave a video unapproved, its recording stays until you approve or remove it. Working copies, such as the cleaned-up sound, are deleted within 14 days of approving or removing the video. An upload that never completes is discarded after 7 days.
Finished videos and their still frames stay until you ask us to delete them. So do transcripts, edits, feedback and your account details.
Deleting Your Videos or Your Account
You can remove a video you haven’t approved yet from the app. That takes it off your screens and starts the 30-day clock on its recording, but its transcript and still frames stay. To delete a finished video, or everything in your account, email [email protected] from the address you sign in with. We’ll delete it within 30 days, including any copies used to tune the editor, and reply when it’s done. Copies in our backups are gone within 7 days after that.
