Questions About Picado
Short answers for anyone new to Picado. If yours isn’t here, write to [email protected].
What Does Picado Do?
Picado edits videos of one person talking to the camera. Upload a take full of restarts, long pauses and ums, and Picado cuts them out and adds captions. You check the edit, then download the video and post it wherever you like.
How Much Does It Cost?
The beta is free, and no card is needed. Prices for after the beta haven’t been set yet.
How Do I Get In?
Only invited emails can sign in while Picado is in its private beta. Join the waitlist at the bottom of this page and we’ll email you when there’s a spot for you.
How Do I Sign In?
Go to app.getpicado.com and sign in with Google or your email. The email has a link and a six-digit code, and either one works once, within 15 minutes. You stay signed in until you go 60 days without using Picado. There’s more on the sign-in page.
What Videos Does It Work On?
One person talking to the camera. A video can be one recording or several clips joined together, up to 10 minutes in all. You can make 30 videos a month, and a video counts once its edit begins.
What Does Picado Cut?
It cuts the restarts, the long pauses and filler words like um and uh, and when you say a line twice it keeps one of them. Nothing you said is reworded, and no words are added. Anything it cut can be brought back when you review the edit.
What If My Recording Runs Long?
Recordings over 3 minutes come back as a 3-minute version that keeps your main points and drops the side stories, so it fits Shorts and Reels. To keep everything, switch the video to Full on its page, or change the default in Settings. Switching never counts as another video.
Does It Add Captions?
Yes. Each video has a Show Captions switch if you’d rather go without, and you set their size, height and highlight color in Settings. The TikTok or Instagram overlay shows where they’ll land.
Does Picado Post to TikTok for Me?
Not yet. You download the finished video and post it yourself. On an iPhone, Save Video opens the share menu, where you can save it to Photos or pick TikTok or Instagram.
Is There a Picado App?
Picado is a web app at app.getpicado.com, so it runs in the browser on your phone or computer with nothing to install. On an iPhone you can add it to your Home Screen, and it opens on Your Videos.
Who Sees My Videos?
Nobody outside Picado unless you agree to it in writing. During the beta, the Picado team may watch your videos to improve the edit, and they’re sent only to the services that make or improve it. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Who Owns My Videos?
You own the videos you upload and the finished videos Picado makes from them. The Terms of Service cover the rest, including the license that lets Picado process them.
